رمل
Ramel, "sand" in Arabic is a material that can copy textures, shapes, and even small details. This feature was discovered long time ago, and it lead to the creation of one of the oldest crafts that's still standing; Sand casting metals.
This project is an experiment with shapes and sand, failures and successes. This project was about letting the material do what it wants, with as little human interference as possible.

The process started by going to, one of the only casters left in Tel Aviv and learning from him and his ways about 2 part moulds and even 3 part moulds, and how to design around the restrictions.
then we each designed shapes to cast in aluminium.

The final products aren't the aim of this project for me, it was the process and its beauty, the simplicity it drives from and how precise the details can transfer, even when some might consider them a failure
