3d printed porcelain vase with a dry plant

Sinken, german for drooping, was a group project with the designer Lisa Halwax, The idea was creating objects, that are stackable, similar to a Matryoshka.

It all started, with the first attempt in the 3d printer, and unlike regular plastic 3D printers, with porcelain there's more flexibility, on over extrusion or printing without supports, as its started to droop and create forms that would be otherwise impossible with the regular plastic 3D printer.
it's also interesting to see the outcome compared to the CAD model and how the material took form.

In this project, we tried to challenge the material, and check it's limits.
the material was translated into a a form, in a very shocking unexpected way every time creating details, that with other technologies and materials wouldn't be achievable, however all these challenges resolved around droopiness and over extrusion, but also inner extrusion (eating from the material itself)
